The Sibillini Mountains and the spectacle of Castelluccio
The Sibillini Mountains National Park spans Umbria and Marche with peaks exceeding 2,000 meters and untouched nature that is home to wolves, golden eagles, and Apennine chamois. It is a paradise for trekking with trails crossing beech forests and high-altitude meadows, while in winter it offers opportunities for snowshoeing and ski mountaineering. Castelluccio di Norcia, at 1,452 meters above sea level, offers the Flowering between May and July: the plain transforms into a mosaic of colors where lentils, poppies, and cornflowers paint the landscape. The small village preserves the tradition of the IGP lentil, cultivated at exceptional altitudes.

The spectacle of water
Water is the defining element of Umbria’s most evocative landscapes. The Marmore Falls, the highest in Europe, offer a breathtaking spectacle of power with three plunging cascades, while the waters of the Nera River invite visitors to enjoy rafting and canyoning. Lake Piediluco reflects at the foot of Mount Terminillo with its alpine atmosphere, while Lake Trasimeno stretches across rolling hills with its three islands. The Nera Gorges lead along a scenic cycling and walking path through canyons and unspoiled nature, and the Clitunno Springs create a true water garden surrounded by willows, where crystal-clear waters offer absolute peace.

Adrenaline Suspended in Midair
The Sellano Tibetan Bridge combines adrenaline and breathtaking views: 517 meters long and 175 meters high above the Vigi River valley, with 68 meters of positive elevation, making it unique in Europe. The bridge connects Sellano, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages, to the hamlet of Montesanto, and during the crossing the gaze embraces the Valnerina in all its beauty. A different way to experience the Umbrian landscape, suspended between sky and earth.
